Fresno, California – A federal grand jury indicted former Fresno deputy police chief Keith Foster and six others Thursday, charging them with a variety of drug trafficking offenses, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced. In addition to Keith Foster, 51, the indictment includes charges against Randy Flowers, 48; Iran Dennis “Denny” Foster, 44; Rafael Guzman, 41; Jennifer Donabedian, 35; and Sarah Ybarra, 37, all of Fresno; and Ricky Reynolds, 30, of Shasta Lake. Italy finds 1.5 billion euros in fraud in public sector contracts out of 4.6 billion checked
ROME – Italy’s financial police have released sobering statistics about the state of fraud and corruption in Italy’s public sector: Of the 4.6 billion euros ($5 billion) worth of public contracts checked last year, they found 1.5 billion euros in fraud and 2.6 billion euros wasted.
The financial police released their annual report for 2014 on Wednesday, saying they had made police reports against 3,700 people for crimes against public administration.
Fifteen Mexican police officers killed in deadly ambush in Jalisco state
Fifteen Mexican police officers have been killed and five seriously wounded in the deadliest single attack on the country’s security forces in recent memory.
The officers’ convoy was ambushed as it drove along a winding mountain road in the western state of Jalisco on Monday afternoon.
The gunmen, believed to belong to the New Generation Jalisco cartel, reportedly used burning vehicles to block the road while they openend fire with machine guns and grenade launchers from the mountainsides.
Witness in cop corruption case loses job
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A police corruption trial in Philadelphia is far from over, but already one trial witness has been handed a losing verdict.
Witness Robert Kushner lost his varsity coaching job at a private academy after testifying this week about his years selling marijuana.
Kushner, 32, is one of more than a dozen former drug dealers testifying for the federal government about allegations of police wrongdoing. He told jurors Tuesday that some of the undercover officers on trial had stolen $81,000 in cash and seven pounds of marijuana from him during a 2007 arrest.
23 arrested in massive Medicare-Medicaid fraud scheme
A 199-count indictment against 23 doctors, nurses, and medical supply companies was unsealed in Brooklyn, NY yesterday, revealing a massive scheme to defraud Medicare and Medicaid of millions of dollars.
Hundreds of poor people were recruited with the promise of new sneakers to visit a couple of clinics in the Bronx, where bogus tests and procedures were performed. The criminals would then bill government insurance programs for millions.

Woman convicted of adoption fraud arrested again on similar charges
The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says a Farmville woman was arrested after duping three victims in an elaborate fraud scheme.
Deputies say in September 2014, detectives began investigating a fraud tip out of Wilmington.
Through their investigation, they say the offender was identified as Heather Dawn Taylor, 39 of Farmville.
Detectives say Taylor received two checks from the first victim in Wilmington for the purchase of Papperiza Jewelry. Taylor then gave those account numbers to a second victim who Taylor said was her mother’s account.

Deputy Chief Keith Foster is accused of distributing and possessing oxycodone, marijuana, and heroin. He was arrested on Thursday after a year long investigation by the FBI and ATF.
